Leaflet update markers layers

Question

I'm trying to update the markers of the json file and associated with the layers every x seconds. I believe the setTimeout () function is the solution but I can't implement it. Thanks for the support

var coorsLayer = L.geoJSON(hospitals, {
    pointToLayer: function (feature, latlng) {

function update_markers() {
  .....
  setTimeout(update_markers, 1000);
}

update_markers();
