graphics - Special case of determining if a point lies within a polygon

Question

I went through a GeeksForGeeks article about determining whether a point is in a polygon or not but I'm struggling to understand what to do in the special case "g". I'm not sure how to handle the edge case of a point lying collinearly with another point in the polygon and I don't understand the provided explanation.
