game development - How can I render large maps with little processing power?

I am currently creating my first real (real as in something that is playable, fun, and a project that lasts longer than 5 hours before being abandoned) game. I have worked on the physics, and the map, and more. However, I have an issue.

The map I want to use in my game is a large map. I don't know how to load this map without the computer having trouble loading it. I understand that I can use chunk rendering, but I have no idea where to start or where to learn. Does anyone have any advice/help? (I am not using a game engine like godot or unity, although it has some 3D game modules)
