scala - build.sbt having problems with dependencies of dependency

Question

I have created a scala library, say L, in whose build.sbt I have included its dependencies. Now I intend to use this library in another scala project, say P. I expected that merely including L in P's build.sbt would pull the L's dependencies transitively. But it does't work and I have to mention those dependencies in P's build.sbt too.

I am surely doing something wrong. So what am I missing here?
