jQuery calls to server not working on iOS in Cordova App

Question

My question is quite similar to Why is jQuery Ajax not working in Cordova iOS app

I have a fully working Cordova Android App developed for a client, which is interacting with server using JS/jQuery calls. Now we need to publish the same on Apple Store as well, but I am not able to make jQuery calls work on iOS.

I am working with:

1. [email protected].
2. jQuery: 3.5.1
3. X-Code 11.6
4. Simulator Info: device.name: iPhone SE (2nd generation), device.runtime: iOS 13.6.

tried the solution suggested by @user12206763 on above mentioned question, but it didn't work for me, build failed after adding the suggested plugins. I then tried the solution suggested by @Aaron Mason on the same question, though build succeeded after removing plugin, but then the solutions didn't work, none of the jQuery calls to server worked on iOS. Can anyone suggest a working solution?
