python - DDS Opensplice: How to deserialize data with sequences

Question

I am using ADLINK's OpenSplice and their Python API. I cannot seem to find good documentation or a class reference. I have serialized DDS data saved to files. I'd like to use this data to rebuild the class

import ddsutil
cl=ddsutil.get_dds_classes_from_idl(idlfile,typename).topic_data_class()
cl._deserialize(list(seq_data))

This works fine in most cases, however when there is a sequence type in the IDL, it fails to populate the data in the sequence/list.
