android - How to setup Navigation Drawer within BottomNavigationView using NavigationUI?

Question

I'm currently in the process of migrating a custom fragment navigation system to Navigation components. I could setup my BottomNavigationView easily using:

NavigationUI.setupWithNavController(bottomNavigationView, navHostFragment.getNavController());

However, I happen to have a NavigationDrawer within the bottomNavigationView that I used to call by drawerLayout.openDrawer(GravityCompat.START) manually. I'm not sure how I can get it working now that everything is setup with NavigationUI.

Also, how can I set the navigation drawer with the help of navigation components? I can see that NavigationUI provide support for it using Toolbar/ActionBar (https://developer.android.com/guide/navigation/navigation-ui), but there's no mention of setting it up when it's within the bottomNavigationView.

Any idea?
