xamarin.android - If App is in the background for longer than an hour refresh Xamarin Forms (like sessionTimeout)

Question

I have an app that I would like to have it refresh, when it is in the background for longer than an hour and is brought back into view. I've seen this done on a lot of banking apps, but those apps have a login, mine does not. so in my case instead of logging the user out I would like the app to be refreshed.

I have seen other users use a timer, to time the amount of time it has been since onSleep and onResume happens, but the timer stops in iOS. So is there another way of doing this?
